After a long Indian Summer it finally feels like real life fall is here in DC! Hallelujah. Fall is my favorite season. I love it. Right now it feels oh so You've got Mail on Capitol Hill. Kids walking home from school in their uniforms, the Eastern Market farm stands set up, people drinking wine outside in their sweaters. I promise I'm not making this up - this city peacocks all the way through the fall and I can't get enough. With that back-to-school feeling I inevitably feel like I need a wardrobe refresh. I can't help it. I am constantly on the look out for new and interesting anything for clients' homes and that always tends to overlap with fashion. And it remains that over the past few fall season, I can't get enough faux fur. Just like a quirky lamp or non-traditional table, some bright faux adds a bit of cheekiness to my otherwise classic base in the home and in my closet. One piece makes a statement without much effort and that, I can appreciate.
And now, for the details..
The Jacket. A statement for a steal that I may just have to bring on into our home.
And speaking of homes, we are making a move next spring to a new DC abode and while a bit of reno is happening, I am dreaming and scheming and cannot get that gorgeous ceramic lamp out of my head! More about the move later, I promise.
Now back to the faux. The scarf! A staple really. And don't be afraid to accessorize your home with your favorite finds. This piece draped over a chair would be gorgeous. Why not.
For the easiest commitment to the faux movement - a clutch. It's a conversation piece and the easiest way to try out a trend. I took a faux fur clutch to the most fun farm wedding in North Carolina last weekend and it was a hilarious prop, one that little kids seemed to enjoy petting! Again, ah why not. Humor is everything.
As for that console, I know. It's gorgeous. You should see it in person. Once that project is complete you will get a full view of the piece in all it's chic glory.
What's your fall go to accessory? Always love hearing from you people!
