layered to imperfection

My sister said it best when she told my husband that "a designer's house is her laboratory". It's the place where we can try out trends and move furniture around until we get great new inspiration for ourselves and our clients' homes. Lately I have been looking around my house and realizing that this place needs more depth - just a few more pieces to warm things up and make the space perfectly imperfect. Not too matchy. Not too expected. Lauren Buxbaum's Chicago apartment is layered in juuust the right way. Sophisticated while remaining approachable, this Nate Berkus Associates Design Director knows how to mix eras and styles in a perfectly imperfect way.
