quick change: boulder style

Last week I made a little trip out to Boulder to see my bro. In a family of decorators he couldn't care less about furniture and would be happy living in a tent. So when he asked me, my sister, Lelia and my dad to come out and outfit his new home a few months ago, we booked those tickets right away. Oh the potential in his 1970's mountain house....we had big plans. Painting, staining, refinishing, furnishing...

And then the Colorado flooding happened. And the basement of this abode flooded. The bro was pretty lucky that the water didn't take over the main level but when we got to Boulder we found ourselves in a construction zone and plans changed a bit.  Cleaning, moving materials, regrouping. We decided to focus on the main living area which needed some major love...

So we hit every store in Boulder and it turns out there are some amazing thrift shops in that town. Multiple trips up and down the mountain later and we had the beginnings of a much more livable space.

Not bad for 48 hours and no custom pieces!
There is a large sisal rug coming that will fill the floor and two more chairs for opposite the sofa.
We kept the leather sofa to accommodate some shedding pups and the rest we found in the area. Framing my brother's record collection with Ikea frames made the space personal and and we spray painted the coffee table a bright green to contrast all the blue. Not sure how the brother feels about the gingham but I am diggin' it for the first time in my life. Hope you all enjoyed the sneak peek...update to come in a few years....
