If you follow me on instagram, (@annasmatthews) you would know that yesterday was spent behind the decorator scenes shooting a beautiful project with Erica. When I'm not working on projects for my Adger clients, I get to collaborate with that woman and we have been in install city lately- putting the finishing touches on a few spaces including a few masculine lounges which have turned out to be my favorite. While I have shoved pattern and bright color into my house (and love it), the clean aesthetic of a masculine study or man cave is very appealing. Comfortable, casual and bright, this man cave Staci Zarin-Goldberg (so fun and easy to work with) shot for us was hard to leave!
We kept the space really simple. While we love layering patterns and colors, dudes just want some leather. The real stand out in the room in the gorgeous paneling on the walls. I never thought a man cave on a basement level could feel airy and fresh but this one really does!
Mid-way through styling the bar...subtle herringbone wallpaper in the bar. Yes.
The perfect place to perch and watch some pool.
Love this little table and carolina blue window pane on the pillows.
A little patriotic art - we are in DC after all! And I feel a DIY coming on...
Per usual, iphone photos do not do this space and the subtle patterns justice! But it is a beauty in person.
