I have finally come up with a theme for our little row house that the husband seems to be comfortable with:
mountain chic on the hill.
I have to come up with a catch phrase that defines the mood of any project I'm working on. It's a great reminder as I shop and helps me create continuity throughout schemes. So mountain chic on the hill it is. That scheme phrase was really kicked into gear by the Manuel Canovas birds that I had to bring into our abode for a little foyer makeover (yep, the third and last! in three years..). And it has allowed me to really embrace the exposed brick in our house and save my de Gournay dreams for another future home...no more trying to fit chinoiserie into our open floor plan abode!
As a result, our home has morphed into a serene/slightly masculine neutral get away where the architecture runs the show.
Also, for those of you wondering, our door hardware is Baldwin, the mirror is from Serena & Lily and the pendant is from Worlds Away - here is a similar one.
